Presidential candidate Daniel Noboa Azin denounces attack against his caravan at the end of the electoral campaign in Ecuador; authorities rule out an attack against him

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Action Alliance of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa Azin, denounced this Thursday an attack against a caravan in which he was traveling in Durán, in the province of Guayas, in an incident that the authorities assure was not directed against him. .

“Thank God we came out unharmed,” Noboa said on the X social network, formerly called Twitter.

The candidate added that he will continue with his closing campaign in Guayaquil, scheduled for this Thursday.

On the same social network, both the Ecuadorian National Police and the Minister of the Interior, Juan Zapata, ruled out an “armed attack” against the candidate, although they did not give details about the incident either.

Both the police and Zapata said that several agents were deployed in the area after the incident.
