Leeds United have named Daniel Farke, the former manager of Norwich City, as their manager for a four-year contract.
The 46-year-old German played for the Canaries for four years and helped them twice to move to the Premier League.
Farke spielte in der letzten Saison für Borussia Monchengladbach in der Bundesliga, wurde jedoch entlassen, nachdem sie den zehnten Platz erreicht hatten.
In 2022-23 were Leeds out of the Premier League after losing two managers, and Sam Allardyce couldn’t keep them up.
Farke erklärte auf der Website des Clubs: “Ich fühle mich jetzt humble, ich verstehe die Verantwortung, alle Erwartungen zu erfüllen, und ich möchte die Vertrauen zurückgewinnen.”

Listen zum ersten Interview mit Farke auf BBC Radio Leeds. In June 2017 wurde Farke zum Manager von Carrow Road ernannt, nachdem er für Borussia Dortmunds Reserves gearbeitet hatte. In seiner zweiten vollständigen Saison führte er die Canaries zum zweiten Ligatitel.
In der darauffolgenden Saison landeten sie am Ende der Premier League, aber Farke führte sie erneut zum Titelgewinn.
Nach einem schlechten Start in die Saison 2021-22 wurde er im November entlassen, nur Stunden nach ihrer ersten Niederlage in der Top-Liga bei Brentford.
Farke nahm dann kurzzeitig die Führung von Krasnodar, einem russischen Team, aber wegen der russischen Invasion der Ukraine war er nicht in der Lage, ein Spiel zu leiten. Anschließend übernahm er last Sommer Monchengladbach für einen Vertrag von drei Jahren.
Am Sonntag, dem 6. August, beginnt Leeds die Champions League-Saison gegen Cardiff zu Hause.

As they seek to avoid another long period of absence from the top flight, the Whites have turned to a man who has been promoted in two of his three seasons managing in the second tier of English football.
Marcelo Bielsa ended their 16-year exile from the Premier League in 2020 as champions, and the legendary Argentine then led them to a ninth place finish in 2020-21.
However, they had a hard time the following season, and in February Bielsa was replaced by Jesse Marsch, and Leeds managed to avoid relegation through a final-day win at Brentford.
After a summer that saw prominent players Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips leave for Barcelona and Manchester City respectively, they made an encouraging start last season with seven points from their first three league games.
They couldn’t keep it up, so Marsch was sacked on February 5th. Finally, he was replaced by former Watford boss Javi Gracia on a deal until the season’s end.
Although he won three of his first six league games, he was sacked with four games remaining after a run of four defeats in five, as the board gambled on veteran Allardyce to try to keep them away from danger.
