Firstly, start by writing down what you want from your kitchen. For example, do you do a lot of cooking? If so, what appliances do you use the most and how would it most suit you to have things arranged? There's no point having an excellent looking fitted kitchen if it doesn't suit your needs.
Small kitchens generally do not do so good with a lot of cabinets since these things make the room smaller and, therefore, more claustrophobic. For small spaces, going for innovative designs such as racked cabinets or two way doors etcetera, would free up space while maintaining the storage capacity. In case of taller kitchens, having upper cabinets along with the lower ones is a terrific idea since you never know when the extra space can come handy. Basing your kitchen cabinet designs on the space available is of utmost importance.
The traditional design is very popular. This style is both European and American. If you choose the traditional design you will most likely choose cabinets that are more ornate; this adds a richness to your kitchen. Gorgeous wood colors such as cherry, walnut or mahogany are popular. Many traditional designs have a lot of cabinets. There may also be a kitchen island for more room and an added touch. Terra cotta floors in the traditional kitchen is quite elegant as well.
