(CNN Spanish) – The Argentine soccer club Boca Juniors announced on Saturday the Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani as its new reinforcement.

The announcement was made on the team’s social media. First, Boca Juniors published an illustration of a suitcase with a stamp of the Uruguayan flag and a matte bag on one side. And, later, the xeneize club made the reinforcement official through a welcome video for the striker.

The video includes some of Cavani’s best goals for his previous clubs (PSG, Manchester United) and with the Uruguay national team, as well as the welcome message for the player: “Happy to have you home.”

Cavani has extensive experience in Europe: he played practically his entire career there and played in four of the five most important soccer leagues on the continent.

Prior to his big step in Europe, the striker had experience at his native club, Danubio in Uruguay, where he was able to score a dozen goals and a championship.

According to the specialized Transfermarkt website, Cavani spent a year in the Danube first team, the club that saw him grow.
Cavani stayed on the Danube from January 2006 to January 2007.
The Uruguayan club says Cavani made his Danube debut in April 2006.

He was champion in the 2006 Opening Tournament.

After his short experience in Uruguayan soccer, Cavani jumped to Europe, specifically to Palermo in Serie A in Italy.
Cavani was at Palermo from January 2007 to July 2010.
In those more than three years, he played 117 games, scored 37 goals and had eight assists.

The Uruguayan striker drew the attention of more clubs thanks to his performance, but he stayed in Italy to be the new striker for Napoli.
Cavani was at Napoli from July 2010 to July 2013.
In those three seasons, the Uruguayan soccer player played 138 games, scored 104 goals and recorded 14 assists.
In the 2012/2013 season, Cavani won the recognition of top scorer in Serie A after scoring goals 29 times.
He was the Italian Cup champion in the 2011/2012 season. He was a scorer in this competition the same year after accumulating five goals.

In July 2013, Cavani made the leap to PSG in France, where he would experience his most winning and scoring period.
The Uruguayan was there for seven seasons until October 2020.
In his seven years with the French club, Cavani made 301 appearances, in which he recorded 200 goals and 43 assists.
He was the top scorer in the French league twice: in the 2016/2017 season with 35 goals and in the 2017/2018 season with 28 goals.
PSG’s dominance in France during Cavani’s tenure was clear: the club won the league title in six of the Uruguayan’s seven seasons.

He came to Manchester United after leaving PSG and was in England from October 2020 to August 2022. He recorded 19 goals and seven assists in 59 games.
After United, Cavani arrived at Valencia, his last club in Europe. He was there from August 2022 to July 2023. He recorded seven goals and two assists in 28 games.

Cavani’s presentation with Boca Juniors will be this Monday, July 31 from 4:30 p.m. (Buenos Aires time) or 3:30 p.m. ET. It can be seen exclusively on El Canal de Boca.
